Your hosts at Upcountry Bungalows are Tony and Nuna.
Tony Milton was born and raised in California. He grew up on the Southland beaches and built custom homes throughout Southern California. Always interested in the arts, he made and sold prints and sculpture as well for most of his life. He has traveled widely and also collected and traded in tribal art for many years. He lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico from the late 1980s until retiring to Thailand in 2006. He still makes art, but mostly relaxes around the resort and lets Nuna do most of the work.
Nuna (Thanatcha Kaewkantha) was born and grew up in Thoeng distict and farmed with her family until her teen years. She moved to Chiang Mai and Bangkok after school to work as a nanny and later in the restaurant and hospitality business. She is a licensed Tourist Guide for the North of Thailand. She knows all of the North quite well and can guide you around the provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampun, Lampang, Mae Hong Son, Phrae and Phayao. This is the complete area of the old kingdom of Lanna. She speaks all four dialects of Thai, as well as Lao and English.
The hosts are both entertaining and do their best to ensure their guests have a memorable time in the mountains of the North.
Nuna has a gift with growing things in the abundant gardens at Upcountry Bungalows.
